We have recently analysed statistics for formal insolvency appointments up to 20 November 2022. The figures highlight a continued national increase in insolvencies in 2022 to date compared to the 'Covid years' of 2020 and 2021.

Western Australia does not appear to have experienced the spike in insolvencies which many predicted at the outset of the Covid pandemic. The position in the Eastern States is however more troubling.
